While skin exfoliation is a naturally occurring process, most skin types can stand some help. A dry brush exfoliation can be done in the morning before you shower. It improves lymph circulation and decreases puffiness, as well as stimulating the immune system. Start by standing in the shower with the water off and using a soft brush or loofa, start brushing at your feet in small circles toward your heart. Apply very light pressure, avoiding broken skin and rashes and your face. After you’ve finished both legs, move on to your arms. Brush from your fingertips, again towards your heart. Reach around and brush from your back towards your stomach. When you are finished, begin your shower.
It is usually advised that exfoliation be done no more than once a week. Any more than that could seriously irritate the skin.
