Soy candles clear the air
Nanaimo's Sharlene Christopherson says soy-based candles are an environmentally sound alternative to paraffin candles, which are made from petroleum, a non-renewable resource.
When lighting candles this holiday season it might be a wise idea to make sure they are made from environmentally sensitive soybeans.
Soy candles are a non-toxic and non-carcinogenic alternative to traditional paraffin candles, which are made from petroleum, a non-renewable resource. The smoke and soot emissions from traditional petroleum candles can aggravate breathing problems, such as asthma, according to a release issued by The Soap Farm.
The soy candles are a recent edition to The Soap Farm's line of handmade soaps and body care products. The Soap Farm is a home-based business in Nanaimo. The soy candles have a mild fragrance.
The Soap Farm products are sold at craft fairs around the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island. They can also be ordered from the company's website: www.thesoapfarm.com or by calling Sharlene Christopherson at 250-756-3007.
