Rooibos is a caffeine-free red tea, grown on rolling hills in South Africa. Packed with vitamins and minerals, the tea has long been a favourite in Japan but has recently been gaining popularity in North America. Boasting more anti-oxidants per cup than either green or black teas, the numerous health benefits include the maintenance of healthy skin, teeth and bones, soothing of stomach and indigestion problems and a possible protection against cancer, heart attack and stroke. Using rooibos (or red tea) tea in lotions and creams provides relief from dry, irritated skin and could help rashes and eczema.
